Description

Not very many bluffs, but plenty of sandbars for recreation if you bring your own shade.

Regulations

There is no horsepower limit or engine-type restriction on the Meramec. Some rules for Sharing the Water will enable paddlers and boaters to interact safely, minimizing opportunities for conflict.

Highlights & Hazards

Just above Chouteau Claim, a leaking landfill is polluting the stream. More information can be found via the Close Generally Landfill facebook page.

The same area is prone to accumulating debris and can be challenging for large boats. Paddle craft need only remain vigilant to avoid visible obstacles.
